MacPherson-Siebelt win the Social Mixed Foursomes

Colin MacPhersonChristine SiebeltThis season's third Social Mixed Foursomes on Monday 25th May was won by Colin MacPherson and Christine Siebelt (pictured here) with an excellent net score of 65.5. Just as with the previous events this season, Monday's event was well supported (see the pictures on the gallery page).
After the event, prizes were awarded to the winners; best gross score prize to the team of Paul and Claire Semple (gross 84); second prize to Bill & Vi Leitch on net 68, and third prize to Iain & Clare Stuart on net 68, altogether a very close set of results.
Colin also won the nearest the pin prize on the 7th hole, with Vi Leitch nearest the pin on the 14th hole.
There were also prizes for Hidden Hole and Magic 2 won by Keith McVicar and Mary Maguire.

Team Brown win the Opening Day Texas Scramble!

John BrownJohn Brown and his team won the Opening Day Texas Scramble with a net score of 56.4 against a gross of 62. They just beat the Kirkwood / Ferguson team who finished on 57.6 but with the competition's leading gross score of 61.

Entries filled up really quickly for this popular event . 16 entries for the four person teams were accepted, the competition being run in shotgun format at 12 noon on Saturday 4th April.

Mark & Ewen FergusonHandicaps are calculated at 10% of the combined team member handicaps, and the resulting fractional handicaps ranged from 3.4 to 10.9 across the sixteen teams. Mark and Ewen Ferguson here, playing with David and Cameron Kirkwood played off 3.4 so they had to play well to finish on the podium!

Team Littlejohn on Opening DayMany members came to see the teams coming in in the early afternoon, and watch the action from the clubhouse at the 1st and 10th tees. Here we see Team Littlejohn - Stevie, Scott & James Conlon, and Craig - just before their round.

Half way through the day, the weather accounted for several of the teams, some walking in through the wind and rain. Undaunted, however, were Lynn and Megan and Lynn McCollMegan McColl and their teammates Steven McColl and Christine Siebelt who took a mid round hot drink before carring on! It must have helped, because they finished third on 59.4 with a gross of 69.

While most of the team members are gentlemen members, there was a fair sprinkling of ladies and juniors who will be determined to do well next year! Click here to see all the results.
