Sammy was great

Sammy was great

It was a night to remember with a great dinner and then entertainment into the small hours from club member Sammy Lowry. Everyone had a great time, and I am sure that Sammy will back to entertain us in the near future.

A huge thank you to the organisers of the event Charlie Conlon, Janice Hughes and Michael Irvine.

Many thanks to all of our sponsors, especially SKYFORM, MERKLAND TANK and HALLEYS.

Unfortunately the Juniors Friday night Shotgun was a bit of a washout, but after a hard fought competition Ryan Sloan won with a net 32. Ryan Clougherty and Andrew McNee both finished with a net 34. Well done boys! See all the results here.

In the main event Walter Dobbin and his playing partner C Montgomerie won with a net 61.6. Walter was heard saying " Winning, it is not for the money, it is for the prestige!". Walter, understated as ever! Stephen McBeth and partner B McLaughlan finished joint second along with James Richardson and partner H Caffery. Both teams finished with a net 64.4. See all the results here.

The Sunday family Texas Scramble competition has been postponed; we will update you on the rearranged date as soon as we can.

Greenkeeping news

John BrownJohn Brown, our Greenkeeper now has his own web page on our site, click here to see the latest news about course management and development.

The June/July report has now been posted. John, of course, is too modest to say that players in the Johnstone Cup, and other members playing the course were full of praise for the quality of the course and greens. One player in the clubhouse was heard to say that the greens have never been faster and truer because they have never been better.

WELL DONE JOHN AND THE TEAM!
