Ladies Outing to Lenzie GC

Each year the Lady Captain organises an outing to another golf course for the day. This year we graced Lenzie GC with our presence. The conditions couldn't have been better, the sun shone, the wind didn't blow and the course was in superb condition for us. The majority of us found the course challenging but some met the challenge with their usual expertise.

Fiona Alexander defended her title from last year and won the Stableford Competition with a par of 36 points ... well done Fiona.

In second place with 33 points
Sylvia Haddock.

Well done all the winners and commiserations to the rest of us!

To our great surprise Alan Harris and friends were having 'a quiet drink' (Lisa's words) to mark Alan's departure from Bearsden GC so there was an opportunity for hugs with Alan and words of farewell and good wishes from the ladies.

Ashbourne Homes 2010

The Trophy was presented to the Ladies Section in 1992 by Ashbourne Homes. They own Clarence Court Care Home at Broomhill Cross and the Administrator, Activities Manager and two Residents usually come to the Club on the afternoon of the Competition to have afternoon tea and present the prizes. Here we are waiting expectantly for Prizegiving to begin.

Ladies' Invitation Day 2010

Every year the Ladies’ Section has an Invitation Day which is organised by the Lady Captain and the Committee. The format is a Greensome Competition and those taking part invite a friend from another club. The Lady Captain organises the prizes for the winners and we have a Tombola, the prizes for which are supplied by the members. The local shops are usually very generous when asked to make donations for our raffle, the proceeds from which go to the Captain’s chosen Charity.

This year 36 couples took part; the day was dull and cooler than of late with the odd shower of light rain. Madelaine’s Caddy Shack supplied a substantial lunch which was enjoyed by all as was the whole event. The scores were very competitive.Winners of 1st handicap prize
